Reimei no Arcana, although mangareader.net does not have chapters past 27, is a manga I really want to review. Why? I really am in love with it!
Plot: [From Mangareader.net]
On that day, I became the enemy`s possesion, Nakaba thought as she stood there, knowing her destiny was to be married for convenience to keep the peace between her country Senan and Prince Caesar`s country, Belquat; two neighbor countries on an island. Between the two countries, there has been a constant war for 200 years and Nakaba has become a sacrificial goat for her country despite the discrimination of her red hair and of the sub-person (half-human, half-animal) Loki, who is her only friend and attendant at Caesar`s estranged palace. But what will Nakaba do when she foresees an event pertaining to Prince Caesar`s demise? Will she save him? Or let him die in return to all the hate directed towards her by the people of Belquat?
So, I love the drawing style of this manga. I love how you can tell when her eyes change colors even though the pages I read aren't in color. I also love the story and how captivating it is. I could read all night if there were more chapters available!
Now, let's do character reviews:
Nakaba
Nakaba is an interesting character. I like how she ends up peering into people's pasts, though she does not mean to. And I love how blood activates it. She ha a good heart, like when she was determined to save Varnas' sister.
Caeser
Caeser sometimes makes me think of a child. But that makes him all the more like-able. And with how he was certain he had to make Nakaba happy, it made it all the better! His character is truly fun to have in the manga, especially with how he never wants to let Nakaba near other men(like Loki, Cain and Akhil). And I love how I always see him wearing the earring Nakaba got for him! (Oh, and his hair looks WAY better cut.)
Loki
At first, Loki was one of my favorite characters. And then he said he wanted to kill Caeser. Fan-base from me immediately dropped. I was such a fan of him, so why did he want to kill him? *topples Loki* WHY, LOKI? Of course, it seems to have straightened out, but he's obviously jealous of Caeser!
Akhil
Akhil makes me laugh every time he shows up! Especially with how he runs away from girls! Makes me want to chase him(I'm so mean. :P) I love having him in the manga! Those chapters are so funny!
Amelia(prolly spelt her name wrong)
I think she's a cute character in the story. I'm interested in the fact that she has Arcana as well. It makes it more interesting.
I would do more characters, but it's nearly impossible to find pictures! T.T So unfair! I really wanted to review Leo and Vernas...
So, my way of Toradora mustn't have all the available chapters because it only goes up to 33 and the anime has them kissing(T.T I wanna see that!)
Anyway, on with the plot[From Mangareader.net] Toradora's story begins with the male protagonist Ryuuji Takasu who is frustrated at trying to look his best as he enters his second year of high school. Despite his gentle personality, he has a natural outer-appearance which makes him look like an intimidating delinquent so he is utterly hopeless about his chances of getting a girlfriend anytime soon, and does not have many close friends either. After being greeted by his hungover mother in the morning, Ryuuji goes to school and is happy to find that he gets to be in the same class as his best friend, Yasuke Kitamura, and crush, Minori Kushieda. However, it is then that he unexpectedly knocks into the schools most dangerous animal of the highest risk level — Taiga Aisaka — who just happens to also be in his class.
Neat, huh? And it's fun to read with how childish Aisaka is.
Anyway, the manga itself has drawings a lot better than what you see on the cover(his nose never looks pointy...except maybe once). I really love the story itself. The characters are interesting and fun to watch go on. So, here are some reviews.
Ryuuji and Taiga(this review's about Ryuuji, though)
I wish I had a better picture to give you, but I don't. This one, at least, shows his eyes. I don't see how people can call them scary...
Anyway, I think Ryuuji's cool. He is the main male character and therefor you know more about him than Aisaka(Taiga). I really think he's nice. I know(I would know even without watching the anime scene of them k***ing<---Not a cuss word) that she likes him back! She has to of given up on Kitamura!
Taiga...in the anime because I couldn't find a manga pic
So, Taiga Aisaka is SO cute. She's like a child. And when I learned why she's living alone, I felt like I wanted to...HUG HER! (I want to hug almost everyone, though...). It's cute how she calls Ryuuji her dog and how she acts towards people that make the mistake of guessing that she is dating Ryuuji. It's also awesome that she shows hatred towards being called the "Palmtop Tiger" like most people would.
Typical Minorin picture...
Kushieda, in my opinion, is a genuine airhead. Just how she acts. She jokes around a lot and acts idiotic, but she's fun to have in the manga. I guess that's all I can really say on her.
Kitamura
So, yeah, he really makes me want to say Idiot. But really, I'm not sure if he rejected Aisaka or just though she was saying she liked Ryuuji(Though my money's on the second. :P) So, yeah, he's busy and complicates the whole series(with the help of Kushieda) but he's o.k. to have around.
I find a manga scene...and it's for HER!?!?!?!?
I don't really like Ami. She's not the kind of person I really like. I made a video about her though! It uses the song Misery Business. The video isn't completed, but I put a sample on YouTube.
*Ahem* Anyway, she really is not someone I like. She is determined to anger Aisaka and it's ridiculous. She's also obnoxious. I dislike her.
Now, for random pictures! But first, a video by 4EverZekiVK about Ami, Ryuuji, and Aisaka! (Made by me!)
Hope you like it! I worked REALLY hard on it and Windows Movie Maker kept spazzing out on me...
I think Kushieda's pose is very typical of her...
Fitting face on Aisaka. If she's not making this face, she's pouting or crying...
Obviously these scenes happen in the anime, but if they happen in the manga I have yet to see them...
I’M BACK! Sorry, I’ve been working on a blog I have on another account. The blog’s at thisisme-whoareyou.blogspot.com in case you’re interested. Now, for the manga review:
Plot[From Mangareader.net] This world consists of two dimensions joined as one, like a mirror. The first is the world in which the humans live, Assiah. The other is the world of demons, Gehenna. Ordinarily, travel between the two, and indeed any kind of contact between the two, is impossible. However the demons can pass over into this world by possessing anything that exists within it. Satan is the god of demons, but there\'s one thing that he doesn\'t have and that\'s a container in the human world that is powerful enough to hold him!! For that purpose, he created Rin, his son from a human woman, but will his son agree to his plans, or will he become something else...? An exorcist?
Ao no Exorcist is a fantastic manga that I started reading. I love it and really find myself enjoying it. I doubt there’s a section of the manga that I will dislike. I mean, I love how Rin is slowly winning everyone back after they learned that he was a demon. I have the admit that the terms they use for the land of humans and the land of the demons are hard to keep track of. They never really talk about them. At the point that I’m at, it’s hard to really remember that. I’m lucky I can remember some of the names. I’ll point out which names I can remember as I’m reviewing the characters.
Now, in terms of the manga’s drawing style, I like it. I think everything is easy to understand when you see it. The only confusing thing I saw was his tail. At first, I didn’t have the slightest idea what it was. Then, after a few pages, I realized what it was. That was literally the only problem.
The story itself is nice so far. I have no complaints to it. It’s easy to understand when it’s a flashback and, even though the beginning is a little slow, it was able to make me come close to tears.
Now, for character reviews.
Rin Okumura
Rin Okumura is what I like to call "an idiot." He reminds me of Naruto Uzumaki(from the popular "Naruto" anime and manga series) in the way that, while he is an idiot, he has a good heart and makes good points. I really love Rin and totally love how he doesn't see anything wrong with him being a demon. Sure, it shocks him at first, but he accepts it and decides that he wants to defeat Satan. And I loved how he totally acted how I expected him to when Bon exploded on his father and said he hated him. I mean, considering what happened to Fujimoto when he did...
Anyway, I LOVE Rin! That's it. Period, end of discussion.
Yukio Okumura
Yukio is a nice guy. If you were to compare me and my younger sister(364-day younger sister) you would see that I'm more like Yukio. I think my way through, act mature, and hate breaking the rules. My sister is my opposite, like Yukio is to Rin(though Rin is Yukio's twin). I like that, while Rin has all the demon powers, Yukio seems to be just a human with a knack for being an exoricst. It adds to their opposite-ness(is that a word?)
Anyway, I love Yukio almost just as much as I love Rin. That's the main point. I have to admit that I love Rin just a bit more.
Shiemi Moriyama
Shiemi is a nice girl. I think it's cool that she wants to be able to make a difference and help others rather than being depended on. I also like how the story introduced her. Mianly appearing as if she's just a small think for Rin to help with, but turning into a major character that does her best to help everyone. I also love her familiar(though she can't exactly summon it at the point she's at) and how, while no one understands her way of saying plant names, it does.
Izumo "Eyebrows" Kamiki
Kamiki is okay. That's it. Okay. Nothing more. Problem is, I can't remember her name. I just call her "Eyebrows" like Bon does. It's way easier. Besides, I'm not the biggest fan of her. It's her personality that I dislike. She was mean to Shiemi, and although she seemed to have a hard time with her friend and seemed to accept that Shiemi wants to be her friend, she's still not anywhere close to my favorite character.
Ryuki "Bon" Suguro
I like Bon. He's okay and turned out to be smarter than his appearance makes me think he would be. Usually tough looking guys are total idiots when it comes to school. That's ho I usually juge them in anime and manga. I gues, in that way, I'm more surprised when they turn out to be otherwise. And, in time, I learn to love them more. And it's certainly true in Bon's case. I can't help but love him.
Renzo Shima
I like Shima. Especially how he decides to do whatever seems the less troublesome. When he tries to avoid Rin after learning he was a demon, thinking it would be more troublesome than accepting him, and then realizes that it's way more troublesome than just being Rin's friend, I laughed with how silly it was. And then, the next morning, when Rin had a hangover but he talked about how he made the right choice by not drinking, I laughed even more. Shima's a funny guy. That's all there is to it. But I really love him, like I do most of the characters here!
Konekomaru Miwa
I think Konekomaru isn't a bad guy and I understand why he was reluctant to accept Rin again. He has no family left. It's just him. And he wants to protect his friends so that he's not alone. I just want to huggle him(and I would have during the time that he was visiting his family's graves if his arm wasn't broken and he was real). So, I LOVE Konekomaru, and I even call him by his first name despite how confusing it is. The only hard part, really, is spelling it. ^.^
Shura Kirigakure
Shura's not my favorite character. She wears inappropriate clothing and is always drunk. I dislike it. I understand if you disagree, but I just don't like her. And how she talks annoys me. In my head, I have to translate "Yer" to whatever it would mean if she used proper grammar.
Those are my only annoyances towards her. Otherwise, I guess she isn't that bad. Just remove the flaws I listed.
So, I reviewed it originally when I wasn’t that far in. But now that I’ve cleared all 99 chapters, I wanna do another review! I mean, my opinion on Yahiro changed, Finn popped up, I want to talk about Aoi, and I’ve just really come to love it more than before! So, here’s my updated review:
You all know the plot, so I’ll tell you this: the manga itself is as magnificent as ever. The only annoying thing is that every time Kei’s father shows up it says "Kei’s Father (35) Baby Face."
I really love how Hikari blanked out when trying to remember what she forgot when she saw Ryuu and Finn *covers mouth* Ignore that! I don’t want you to know that until I do character reviews!!!
Also, ending of chapter 52: BAKA TADASHI! I WOULD KILL YOU IF YOU HADN’T OF BEEN SO CUTE WHEN YOU AND YAHIRO WENT EXPLORING!!!
And, come chapter 53, I was okay with it. I mean, it made it so PERFECT! *Squeals* *Takes a deep breath* I guess I should be careful...
A Megumi+Yahiro pic! ^.^ A.K.A a manga pic with them!!!
So, Yahiro...
Baka. But he’s SO sweet. I loved his date with Megumi. It was too perfect. And I loved how she sung for him. But he needs to quit lying! I mean, lying is not a good thing! It’s something to avoid! Yet he seems to do it when it can prevent others from liking him. Like, when he lied about his and Megumi’s date! But I loved how he bought her the erasable board and bugs her about talking. :P SO SWEET! And I couldn’t help but notice that Megumi was using the board in chapter 80!!! And in chapter 85 I fell in love with him. *huggles Yahiro* He broke through the door to get Megumi. <3.<3 But then he went out and said "The thought of being your real boyfriend has never crossed my mind." But, then again, he lies to Akira a lot...
I give you, Prince Finn, soulmate of Ryuu
As for Finn... She HE is a nice character. And when HE *explodes from too much effort. I’ll just say Finn* and Akira both challenged Takishima *is back and forth between that and Kei* since Hikari had screamed I couldn’t help but laugh. And, of course, after being beat right away by Kei, Finn lost hope right away. Well, at least Akira will put up the fight where Finn can’t! *Feels like Akira who always called Hikari her name instead of "You" or "She"
But my money’s on it being Finn+Ryuu[I say that...I’m against Yaoi(though I have nothing against Gays, don’t get that wrong)...what could this mean? *hint* *hint*]
Yet, even if I am for Ryuu+Finn, I still love Ryuu after coming this far *Huggles Ryuu* Maybe it just has to do with the name? -_-"
Lookie! She has pink hair just like Sakura Haruno(Naruto/Naruto Shippuden)
Now, for Sakura! Her and Hikari working together is destined to bring only BAD things. I mean, it’s O.K. sometimes, but not usually. In fact, most of the time I think they do good while also causing more chaos than is needed. One example of okay would be... *thinks* *shakes head* Nah, I don’t wanna spoil anything (Though I may have already)
Lookie! Aoi profile!
Aoi is a cool guy. I especially love how he straight out told Hikari that he was kidnapping her. She’s so dense, she wouldn’t have known if he didn’t say so. And I like how he starts to understand why it is that Kei won’t go back.
Alisa's the one eating...
Alisa is funny, and she makes me think that if you looked up the word "Glutton" in the dictionary, you should see her. She eats more than my underweight friend. :P And, of course, in chapter 73, I laughed when she blushed as Ryuu said "I like people who eat a lot" and was thinking of a chipmunk(or was it a squirrel?)
Iori Tokiwa
Tokiwa is okay. I mean, he’s right when he says rude things, but they’re still rude. And when I saw him I feared "KEI’S GONNA KILL HIM! I KNOW HE’S GONNA GET CLOSE TO HIKARI AND END UP LIKING HER AND THEN KEI IS GONNA MURDER HIM IN COLD BLOOD!" Sorry for the caps, my brain was screaming. And, surely enough, the end of chapter 76 there was a small box at the bottom saying "Kei Takishima’s goal for the year: Obliterate Iori Tokiwa" And his face was KOWAII(Scary)!!! But Tokiwa overworks himself despite being sick. His wish to be beautician overtakes his wish to keep healthy, it seems. Baka. But his eyes looked SUPER COOL in the manga! ^.^
And, of course, a random note: In chapter 74, I thought of Finn and Hikari making chocolate and ended up thinking of Vampire Knight when Yuuki gave Zero the only chocolate of hers that turned out. So, I pictured Hikari giving a chocolate to Kei and saying, "It’s the only one that didn’t explode."
Needless to say, I almost choked on my root beer.
And I was thankful that I wasn’t drinking my root beer at the start of chapter 75. I would have choked again... T.T
But please, don’t drink root beer when reading chapter 90, either. The last page will kill you.
Well, that’s it for the updated review. :P I posted two reviews in one day since this is basically just updating one...
After throwing away his dreams a boy wanders into "Wonderland" and he holds the name of "Alice" which is the primary requirement in the "Game to kill the White Rabbit". In a crazy story where common sense does not apply and everything is bound by the rules of the game and the orders of the Queen of Hearts, Alice decides to take the gun in his hand.
Well, I don’t really like "Alice." Why? His faces annoy me. Some of them make me think of the Indian lady in Black Butler when she was talking to the prince-guy. (Yeah, for someone that’s good with names, that anime really blocks me). Anyway, the "Alice in Wonderland" thing(er, Regret) was confusing, as in the girl yelling at him to give back her name. And I’m finding it annoying that everyone character, like the queen, is going to be a dude!!!
Anyway, I have a horrible fear that this is going to be a Yaoi manga. And Manga like these are exactly why I stopped reading Loveless. The moment the dude kissed him, I closed out the screen and opened another to continue my search.
Anyway, I don’t enjoy how Alice keeps trying to use a gun that failed him once. It failed it once, he tried to shoot the queen. It failed that time and he threatened to blow out his brains. Baka.
A part I rather thought was funny was the fish. He freaks out that the fish talks and walks and then ends up being dragged away by it on the end of a fishing poll. The positions were switched(as the human is usually the one holding the pole while the fish is attached and trying to get away)
Oh, Alice getting stuck between two walls was rather funny. I’ll admit that. Just because it made him look even more stupid. You follow the more experienced people, idiot. Don’t just to charging in.
Anyway, that’s it. I don’t really like this manga and got bored after chapter 12, which I didn’t even finish.
Sorry about the short review. Here are some images to make up for it:
The plot of this fantastic manga[from MangaReader.net] Kuronuma Sawako’s one wish in life is to make friends. That’s a difficult proposition when everyone who meets this high school student cowers in terror! She just wants to be like her classmate Kazehaya-kun, a laid-back, easygoing guy.
MangaReader likes small plots, don’t they?
Kimi Ni Todoke is like Special A in two ways: No blood and gore splattering about and I constantly want to jump in, slap the characters, and scream, "HE LIKES YOU, BAKA!" And at one point, I was screaming "They’re the same!!!"
Anyway, I loved the story and enjoyed how it went. At times, I was confused, but I did have a lot of fun reading it. I am certain that it is not completely posted online from the ending(no kiss between two characters, a confession right before it ends for another two-which is available on chapter 59 page 25 for the impatient who like spoiling things) and if I learn they stopped posting, I'll throw a fit. I want to see certain things happen!!! Like I wanna know why it is that*ends sentence* Never mind, I'll avoid spoilers.
Anyway, I love the way it's drawn, though some parts helped with how confusing it was, and I really love all that happens along the way(though other parts want me to kill poor Sawako for her stupidity in not knowing *ends senence* Ignore that. And sorry if I end sentences early. I tend to reveal spoilers.
Oh, random night, a sign that I loved this anime is that I actually changed my google background from Tifa from FFVII to Chizu and Ayane!!!
Anyway, let's get onto character reviews so I can't spoil anything!!!
Sawako
This is Sawako, nicknamed "Sadako" by her classmates. She's SO sweet and REALLY scary in the eyes of others. I'm not really the kind to be scared of her since I absolutely hate ghosts and don't believe in them(no offense to those who do like/believe in them) She's cute and makes me want to hug her at times, yet at others she makes me wanna slap her for being an idiot. That's no prob, right? I mean, THAT'S WHAT I WANT IN A MAIN CHARACTER! If I never want to slap you, I like you too much! You need to have some bad qualities that I'll hate.
The CUTEST moment is one I can't reveal, but you'll know it when you see Sawako's arm stretched out to the side, reaching for Kazehaya. Okay, IT'S HER TRYING TO HOLD HIS HAND! I CAN'T HIDE IT! IT WAS TOO CUTE! Here, I'll cross that out!
Kazeyhaya
This guy is Hazehaya, a complete idiot. Yet he's TOO awesome and TOO cute when he blushes! I just LOVE IT WHEN HE'S EMBERASSED! Is that a bad thing?
And he goes on about how he's selfish and lists his bad characters, but I think that's what makes him TOO DANG CUTE! And with how Sawako thought he didn't like her the *ends sentence* Let's just say that the school's festival is surely something to look forward to.
Other than that, there happens to be nothing I dislike about him except that he's TOO CUTE TO BE REAL! I mean, come on! Why do anime guys have to be so dang perfect where there's no chance of getting to meet someone like them in real life(or not in my world.)
Anyway, let's move on to one of my favorite characters!
This may look like a confession, but Chizu doesn't see it that way. She thinks it's meant as their friendship, wish is very large(she sees him as a brother. Poor Ryu T.T)
Ryu! This guy is too perfect! I mean, in my eyes, I like him better than Kazehaya! He's soooo sweet! His hardcore honesty makes him extremely likable! I mean, how he never remembers names is a bit annoying, but it's cute that he doesn't appear to put in an effort. And how he's always sleeping! Yet he's kind and honest and makes me think of a teddy bear! Don't ask why. I have never seen a teddy bear person, but this is how I want one to be!
A very emotional Chizu...
Chizuru Yoshida, better known as Chizu. This emotionally dense idiot is SO much fun to have in the anime. I really love her and how thoughtless she can be. She accidentally said that Kazehaya knows the least about Sawako to his face without thinking it would affect the relationship between him and Sawako. It REALLY complicated things. But, it's okay. Her strength and silliness is something I love. One thing I don't love is how DENSE and COLD she is. Okay, she's NOT cold, but I think it's cold with how she turned down poor Ryu. *huggles Ryu saying "I'll love you, Ryu!"*
Ayane
What can I say against Ayane? (I want to get that out of the way since I may have problems remembering later one) Well, to begin, she dates too much. She should really choose a guy that will have a chance of liking her. Get a crush! Something!
Other than that, I like how she's sweet and talks to Sawako(like Chizu) and is good at helping the situation between Sawako and Kazehaya(I feel as if I've already revealed too much about those two...) She's someone nice to have as a friends, and I love how her and Sawako were upset about not being able to help Chizu after her fight with Ryu(Poor Ryu...)
Pin
Kazuichi Arai, better known as Pin. Heck, I can't even call him Arai-sensei. At one point when they said Arai I thought they were talking about their old teacher
Anyway, I dislike Pin most of the time. He's loud, obnoxious, unable to act like an adult, and knows how to cause trouble. In fact, he told poor clueless Sawako that to thank Kazehaya she just had to stand still for five seconds with her eyes close while facing Kazehaya(it was REALLY close, though! Inches away from happening!)
Now, he also has his moments where he is okay. I can't really think of any, but I'm sure he's had at least one(maybe only one. :P) He actually ushered Kazehaya to confess to Sawako.
Kurumi is on the right
Ume Kurumizawa, better known as Kurumi. This girl is O.K. She's the one that got Sawako to make sure she clarified her confession and make sure she actually got rejected(and some of us may know very well how that ended. :P). Kurumi herself confessed to Kazehaya, but she received a rejection(and I know it's rude, but I was cheering at that moment).
Against her, she keeps up a fake personality(which is a SWEET and CUTE one) around most people. The only person she really shows her true self to Sawako, which is the total opposite of her original one.
You can probably figure out which one Miura is...
Do I HAVE to do him? DO I? Fine, I will...
Let's start with this: What can I say POSITIVE about this meddling idiot??? HE ALMOST ENDED ANY CHANCE THAT KAZEHAYA AND SAWAKO HAD! IN FACT, HE TRIED TO MAKE HER GIVE UP ANY HOPES! I honestly can't think of anything positive to say about him! Miura is a complete idiot with no brains. Sure, he tries to help Sawako smile more and say "Good Morning" with ease, but he's STILL AN IDIOT!!! MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS, MIURA!!!
Oh, just thought of something. He hugged Ayane when she was depressed. There, I came up with something positive. (I almost hate this dude as much as Kaname. Almost)
Well, obviously I've had a lot to say. I hope you enjoy these pictures that I felt like throwing in:
Something tells me that this was inspired by the chapter taking place on New Years(as Sawako said she was happy about seeing a first time of Kazehaya's)
SO CLOSE!!!
Look at Kazehaya getting all emberassed! :P
You can tell that it bent where Kazehaya's arm is...
